About us - Our mission
Unhooked is on a mission to help the millions of men in the world suffering from pornography addiction.
This unique therapeutic online platform relies on psychology-based treatments and a dedicated community.
It was built by the two founders Dimitri Douchin, PhD and Benoit Maurel.
Dimitri, psychosexual therapist and recovered addict, had been treating men with sexual issues 1-on-1 for the past 8 years and was feeling frustrated that he couldn’t reach more men who needed help and support.
Benoit, digital strategist with an interest in mental health and wellbeing, saw Dimitri’s passion - and realised there was a way to provide meaningful solutions to millions of men searching for help online.
The two friends decided to unite their unique sets of skills to create an inclusive, novel type of health platform in that niche, and Unhooked was born.
Dimitri Douchin, PhD
Dimitri is a psychotherapist specialised in sexual addictions and trauma recovery, and a recovered addict himself.
He has an inextinguishable passion for helping men heal from their toxic attachment to pornography and live a happy and purposeful life. Dimitri developed his own non-violent methods to manage addiction and successful recovery and has used these techniques with hundreds of men.
He is the creator of all the programs and treatments on Unhooked and runs weekly live group calls as well as 1-1 therapy sessions.

Benoit Maurel, MSc
Benoit is a digital strategist with over 15 years experience in online marketing and technology startup consulting.
He has helped many entrepreneurs grow their online businesses exponentially over the last decade. He also has a strong interest in men’s mental health, after having recovered from several episodes of anxiety and depression himself, and having done a lot of research in that field over the past years. He also has a certificate in EFT tapping, one of the most effective anxiety relief and trauma healing technique.
As co-founder of Unhooked, he works closely with Dimitri on all technical and communications aspects to make the online recovery journeys as effective as possible.
